Crime and Convictions C.18.09.12

I have written about murders and suicides, but another point of interest is sheer crime and the appropriate convictions.

It seems to me that people who do petty crime seem to get hard jail sentences and people who do major physical harm tend to walk away free. Why is this so?

I know there is a lot of details which make up the hearing for a conviction but that still doesn’t explain why blatant criminals walk free.

When I speak of blatant criminals, I speak of those who physically harm or murder another human being.

I think the system needs an overhaul and put into proportion to the crime. At the same time, I don’t think that we need to build more jails but rather proportion who are real criminals.

Just a thought which I feel a lot of people share.
