This is a conundrum – is it practical to drink hot drinks during the hot weather. Well this is one I have tried myself and the results are amusing.
During the very hot weather it is nothing unusual to grab for a cold drink during steaming hot weather. But is that a good idea.
I have something for you to try. If you are in a hot climate, instead of grabbing a cold drink on a hot day, try grabbing a hot drink on a hot day.
I uncovered that when you drink a cold drink on a very hot day there is a need to drink more cold drinks to keep up the momentum.
But if you grab a hot drink like a coffee or tea on a hot day the result is different. Because a hot drink is the same temperature as the air temperature is surprisingly a neutral result where the need to keep consuming is not necessary because there is no extreme in temperature.
After my experiment I discovered that if I drink a hot tea on a hot day it turns out to be refreshing and satisfying. But if I drink a cold drink on a hot day, I want to keep drinking because the extreme in the two temperatures are so extreme my thirst is not satisfied.
