Old Families C.12.20

The expression “This person comes from an old family” always sets a giggle with me. It is odd expression but one which came up again recently. I couldn’t help myself but to intervene and add “everyone comes from old families”. The rest of us didn’t just appear.

I suppose the real expression is meaning an old family from a certain area as oppose to the new comers. But left on its own it does sound weird. We all come from old families – it is called evolution.

So welcome old and new in any area or place because who came first doesn’t matter but rather what matters is now.
